If you’re feeling confused, stuck, in low spirits or struggling with decisions, I offer confidential counselling with adults in a safe, supportive way, without judgement. I bring warmth, understanding, sensitivity and respect for people of diverse identities and backgrounds, to build a trusting relationship.
I believe we all have an instinct for growth and healthy living. You might have found ways of surviving, perhaps in response to difficulties, which may no longer be helpful. I see our task as working together to support you to find your own way to unblock stuff getting in your way. Then you can live more fully, with more energy and ease.
I am BACP-registered as a fully qualified counsellor. I see each client as an individual – and so each person’s counselling is different. I draw on a range of counselling approaches to work with you in the most useful way.
I’ve had wide experience of working with many different issues, including bereavement, depression, family and relationship problems, anxiety, low self-esteem, identity issues, growing older, self-harm, suicidal feelings and the impact of abuse and trauma.
What to expect
Mostly, people come for weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes, preferably at the same time each week. We’ll talk together to get an understanding of what you need, and how we might work together. Some people come for just a few sessions. Other people come for a longer period. I work at Zellig at the Custard Factory, Digbeth, Birmingham B9 4AA and also online via Zoom or phone.
I’m particularly interested in identity issues around culture, faith, sexuality, gender and belonging, as well as the process of change in different phases of life. I draw also on many years of creative work. For more information, please see my website, www.mandyrosscounselling.com
My usual fee is £45 per session.
I keep a few places at a lower cost, so please ask about this, if it would help.
