Welcome
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or struggling with patterns of behaviour that feel difficult to change, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with feel caught in cycles they don’t fully understand, turning to coping strategies that once helped but now leave them feeling frustrated, exhausted, or disconnected from themselves.
I’m Lizzie, an integrative therapist offering a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever is going on for you at your own pace. I work with a range of difficulties including anxiety, stress, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, ADHD-related difficulties, and a general sense of feeling lost or overwhelmed.
I have particular experience supporting people affected by addiction and recovery, including alcohol and substance use, as well as compulsive behaviours such as gambling, shopping, sex, or other patterns that have become difficult to manage. Rather than focusing solely on the behaviour itself, I believe it is important to understand what may be driving it. Together, we can explore the emotional needs, stress, past experiences, and coping strategies that sit beneath the surface.
I also work with clients who have ADHD and understand the impact this can have on emotional regulation, overwhelm, self-esteem, relationships, and everyday life. Many people come to therapy feeling misunderstood, struggling to manage intense emotions, or relying on coping strategies that no longer feel helpful.
My approach is integrative and relational, meaning I draw on different therapeutic models according to your individual needs while placing the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work. I may incorporate elements of person-centred, psychodynamic, CBT, and solution-focused approaches, always adapting therapy to what feels most helpful for you.
I am particularly interested in the connection between emotional regulation, attachment, coping behaviours, addiction, and recovery. Often the difficulties we experience are not the problem itself, but an attempt to cope with something deeper. Therapy offers an opportunity to understand these patterns with curiosity rather than judgement, creating space for greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and lasting change.
My work is informed by both professional training and lived experience of recovery. This gives me a grounded understanding of how complex, personal, and often hidden these struggles can be. I aim to offer empathy, honesty, and respect for wherever you find yourself right now.
Starting therapy can feel daunting, and you do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. The first session is an opportunity for us to explore what is bringing you to therapy, discuss how I work, and consider what support might be most helpful for you.
I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call so you can ask questions and decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
