I am a person-centred counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer a warm, confidential and supportive environment where we can build a trusting therapeutic relationship together. Within this safe space we can explore and gain a deeper understanding of whatever it is that brings you to counselling, in order for you to move forward. Counselling can help you to build a better relationship with yourself, build resilience and self esteem and facilitate change. Whatever your reasons for accessing therapy, if it’s important to you, it’s important to me too. I will work with you without judgment, at your pace.

Our history shapes us into the person we are today and sometimes we need to address the parts of our past that are holding us back and preventing us from living life to our full potential. You may feel you would like to explore or address old unresolved issues in order to move forward with more clarity, or perhaps you are seeking counselling for a specific issue in your life. It may be that you are experiencing difficulties in your personal relationships or friendships, facing a crossroads in your career, mourning the death of a loved one or experiencing anxiety or depression. Maybe you just feel different to everyone else, like you don’t fit in, or that no one really understands what its like to be you.

I work with people from all walks of life and embrace the difference and diversity of each individual. Everyone’s journey is unique to them, but at the core I have found that fundamentally we all seek the same things; to feel content with who we are, to feel accepted, to reach our true potential and to feel the freedom that comes from self-belief and self-acceptance. I have over 25 years experience in the caring professions working with children and families, which has helped me to develop an understanding of the way our upbringing and early experiences shape our lives, and ultimately led me to pursue a career in counselling.

I currently work as a counsellor in Private Practice and within an agency setting with adults and young people from 12 years. I also run a support service for people who are lonely and socially isolated and experiencing mental health difficulties. Previously I have experience working with adults on a one to one basis within a bereavement service, as a listening volunteer at Samaritans and as a counselling tutoring. I have also facilitated group work with both adults and young people within a bereavement service and been involved in running children’s bereavement groups.

I work therapeutically with issues including bereavement, attachment and loss, abuse, relationship issues, depression and anxiety, low self esteem, phobias, eating disorders, post traumatic stress, anger, loneliness, addiction, early childhood trauma and more.

Fees are £40 per 50 minute session. Limited availability concessions for those on low income and students.
