I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I have worked in the field of mental health and psychology since 2004 which includes the NHS, third sector/charities, education, EAPs and private practice.
I offer a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space to explore and to support you through difficulties or challenges you may be experiencing. I offer both short term and long term counselling.
I see counselling as a journey and an opportunity to be heard and from this I believe it can enable you to move forward and to find helpful ways to manage or cope with some of life’s difficulties.
I have a particular interest and experience in anxiety, stress, low mood, bereavement and self-esteem. I have worked with a diverse range of clients and have a particular passion in supporting individuals from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background.
I currently work in private practice and for a charity as well as offering supervision and support for those who are training in the counselling field as well as the helping profession field. I facilitate workshops in diversity as well as a distant learning tutor for students studying in the field of psychology, counselling and mental health.
If you decide to get in touch, we will have an initial session to identify your reasons for counselling, however most importantly it is an opportunity for us to meet and to ascertain how we will work together as I believe it is important for you to feel comfortable with whom you choose to have counselling with.
I offer one-to-one Stress Management Sessions looking at how stress and anxiety manifests as well as practical ways of managing the emotional symptoms of stress and anxiety. The sessions cover anxiety, panic attacks, negative thoughts as well as the impact on your day to day life. These sessions are psycho-educationally orientated and will have more of a practical focus rather than a counselling focus; however counselling is an option after the sessions are complete.
I offer six sessions which includes a stress management booklet and a follow up session six weeks later.
