Hi, I’m Catherine Hardy. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner.
I am experienced working with clients with anxiety including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobia’s, Panic Disorder, Social phobia, Health Anxiety, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression, long term conditions, pain, IBS, poor self-esteem, relationship difficulties, childhood trauma, work related stress, and general life difficulties.
CBT is a talking therapy which looks at the way that we think about things and how this guides and directs our behaviour. Sometimes the way that we think about things can trap us into behaviours which are problematic. CBT breaks problems down into manageable chunks so that deal with things more appropriately
EMDR is a therapy which works with traumatic memories to help clients to remember events instead of feeling that they are reliving them again and again.
I work with adolescents, adults and older adults.
